Every suggestion is reviewed by hand. We don't publish your own business, tourist-trap attractions or commercial promotions — only places that genuinely deserve the "hidden gem" label. When approved, your name shows up as a contributor on the place's page.

What kind of places are you looking for?
Secret beaches without crowds, quiet viewpoints, lesser-known trails, authentic villages, forgotten heritage, off-the-beaten-path corners of nature. The criterion is simple: it has to be little known — being beautiful isn't enough.
What do you NOT accept?
Already-mainstream spots (Marinha, Benagil, Ponta da Piedade), restaurants or accommodation (they have their own section), events (also separate), and anything with a promotional intent. When in doubt, submit anyway — we'll explain the decision if rejected.
Can I suggest my own business?
No. Hidden gems are about non-commercial physical places. If you have a restaurant or business, contact us about partnerships rather than submitting as a hidden gem.
Does my name show publicly?
By default yes — when approved, the place's page shows "Suggested by [your name]" as credit. If you'd rather stay anonymous, there's a checkbox on the form for that.
How long does approval take?
Typically 24 to 48 hours. We review each suggestion manually to keep quality high — you get an email as soon as it's published (or if we need more details).
