Azinhal
A peaceful village with about 520 inhabitants, the seat of its own parish covering 68 km². It is located near the banks of the Guadiana River and is famous for its traditional bread, pastries, and regional sweets. A well-preserved mountain village on the Via Algarviana (Sector 2: Balurcos to Furnazinhas, 14.3 km). The surrounding landscape features the Ribeira da Foupana (one of the best-preserved streams in the Algarve) and montados of cork oaks and holm oaks. The annual Feira do Campo (May) promotes mountain crafts, honey, dried fruits, and traditional sweets.
