Workshop: How can scientific writing help you?

On May 27, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 12:15 PM, a training session titled "How Scientific Writing Can Help You?" will be held at the University of Algarve, aimed at supporting students, researchers, and teachers in developing essential skills for scientific publication.
The initiative, organized by CCMAR (Center for Marine Sciences), will take place at the Green Auditorium (Building 8, Floor -1) at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Algarve, and will address fundamental topics such as what the impact factor is, the importance of publishing in indexed journals, the limitations of this indicator, and the need for a critical and strategic approach to academic writing.
The process of selecting scientific journals will also be explored, with a focus on the use of Journal Citation Reports (JCR) as a supporting tool.
Participation is free, but requires mandatory registration.
