Sustained Tones

Music by Tiago Sousa Tiago Sousa, pianist, organist, and self-taught composer, is building a distinctly minimalist and contemporary musical path in albums such as “A Thousand Strings” (Discrepant), “Ripples on the Surface” (Holuzam), “Insónia” (Humming Conch), or “Organic Music Tapes” (Sucata Tapes).

After the series “Organic Music Tapes”, a new series of editions will begin in January 2026. The first volume of the series “Sustained Tones” is an album that brings together six compositions of eminently sonic motivation for piano, electric organ, and taped loops. Sound mass and reverberation, in continuous movement of slow inspiration and suspended time. Music sustained in stillness that extends in twilight harmonies and cyclical melodies.

2026 also marks the celebration of 20 years since the release of his first self-titled edition: “Crepúsculo” (Merzbau). To commemorate the occasion, Tiago will present his compositions with a series of concerts across the country.
