The Portimão Arena will host the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup from May 15 to 17, one of the most prestigious international competitions in the discipline.
After the International Tournament of Portimão, the level rises to its peak with the Portuguese stage of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, gathering some of the biggest names in world rhythmic gymnastics.
The list of participants is truly worthy of an Olympic final, highlighting the presence of Darja Varfolomeev, the current Olympic champion; Sofia Raffaeli, an Italian gymnast and one of the biggest global references; Tara Dragas and Alina Harnasko, names that promise to compete for the top podium spots.
In total, there will be 108 officials, 58 individual gymnasts from 33 countries, and 10 groups, comprising 59 gymnasts from 10 nations. Among the represented countries are Germany, Angola, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, Colombia, Croatia, Egypt, Slovenia, Spain, the United States, Estonia, the Philippines, France, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and Ukraine, with the presence of Neutral Individual Athletes 1.
Portugal presents a strong and ambitious delegation. In the individual events, attention will be focused on Rita Araújo and Joana Pinheiro. In the group category, the public in Portimão will be able to support the Senior National Group, composed of gymnasts Anamar Couto, Beatriz Nascimento, Beatriz Sousa, Bruna Tavares, Maria Osório, and Sara Costa.
