LD Miguel Trio | European Music Day | Loulé
View original eventSource: Viral Agenda
On European Music Day, LDMiguel Trio presents "Three Simple Sounds" - a tribute to the instrumentation that redefined freedom in Jazz: the trio of saxophone, double bass, and drums. Inspired by the audacity of Sonny Rollins in his legendary 1957 sessions at the Village Vanguard, the group forgoes harmonic instruments to explore a direct dialogue, where space and silence are crucial. In this concert, the absence of piano or guitar is not a lack but a liberation. Through a repertoire that crosses hard bop classics with contemporary explorations, the trio emphasizes instinctive interaction and melodic narrative. It is a celebration of the essence of Jazz, where each musician takes responsibility for sustaining structure and emotion, resulting in an organic, robust, and deeply communicative sound.
