The Intangible Cultural Heritage Meeting – Algarve takes place on June 18 and 19, at the auditorium of CCDR Algarve, in Faro, as an initiative promoted by the Regional Coordination and Development Commission of Algarve, I.P. (CCDR Algarve) and by Cultural Heritage, I.P.

This meeting aims to promote awareness, dissemination, appreciation, and safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Algarve Region, bringing together researchers, technicians, representatives of public institutions, and local agents working in this area.

The program for the first day includes presentations from the management team of the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage and specialists who have developed research and reflection on the intangible heritage of the Algarve. Notable is the participation of Lucília Chacoto, a lecturer at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Algarve, who will present the communication “Proverbs Around the Table. Contributions to the Study of Portuguese Intangible Heritage”, at 4:20 PM.

On the second day, there will be a working session open for the identification and sharing of projects and practices in intangible cultural heritage, featuring the participation of representatives from various municipalities in the Algarve and the Residents' Association of Ilha da Culatra.

The initiative also has the collaboration of the Algarve Museum Network and AMAL – Algarve Intermunicipal Community.
