From Menhir to Enchanted Moura: paths through the memory of Salir
View original eventSource: Viral Agenda
Integrated into the Mão de Baraka exhibition, this excursion proposes a route through Salir that traverses different layers of memory and cultural heritage. Starting from the menhir of the Salir Museum Pole, the visit explores megalithic remains, the Andalusian presence in the territory, and the popular imagery of the Enchanted Moura, a central figure in the narratives of the southern peninsula.
Led by independent researcher in medieval Perso-Islamic astrology Filipa Araújo, the walk invites the discovery of the relationships between landscape, history, and oral tradition, revealing symbolic continuities that span centuries and remain inscribed in the places.
Meeting at 6 PM at the Alfaia Association in Loulé; or at 6:30 PM at the Salir Museum Pole. Registration with indication of the meeting point at alfaia.org@gmail.com [Project link]
