From Archdukes to Drones” Francisco Seixas da Costa In these strange days, when global diplomacy seems doomed to failure, a feeling is beginning to settle everywhere that we may not be far from a large-scale confrontation. In 1914, Manuel Teixeira Gomes was in London. Portugal had placed him in the capital of the empire that was trying to hold the threads of a rapidly disintegrating European order. What would he feel, observing the exchange of ultimatums, tasked with defending the interests of a fragile country, with a new regime still trying to impose itself in a hostile environment? Join us for the inspiring moments of this program.
