The Municipality of Lagoa will celebrate, on May 15, the reopening of the now-called Lagoa Congress Center, a reference infrastructure in the Algarve and a unique facility south of the Tagus, prepared to host national and international events in the areas of congresses, culture, tourism, business, education, and innovation. Carmina Burana is a famous work written by composer Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936, inspired by a collection of medieval poems. It premiered the following year, in 1937, and was very well received by the public. Carmina Burana is a scenic cantata based on 24 medieval poems from the 12th and 13th centuries, mostly written in medieval Latin, with some passages in Old High German and French. These texts, of a secular nature, come from the Codex Buranus manuscript and explore universal themes such as the instability of fortune, the pleasures of life, carnal love, nature, and a scathing critique of morality and authority. "O Fortuna," the theme that begins and ends the work, is the calling card of this concert, recognized by almost everyone, symbolizing the unpredictable fate that governs human existence. Tickets are on sale at Bilheteira Online.
