The Municipal Library of Lagoa continues with the activity 🎉Celebrating the Word🗣️, a cycle of activities taking place throughout 2026. The next session will be on June 11, at 18:00, in a Lecture with Annabela Rita on the theme Camões Global - From Man and Writer to Myth and Its Internationalization.

The session will be presented by Maria Luísa Francisco and admission is free!

Can we talk about a "global" Camões? Professor Annabela Rita, PhD, with Aggregation and two Post-doctorates in Literature, a deep connoisseur of Camões' work, will guide us through the different dimensions of Camões.

She is a retired professor from the University of Lisbon, a researcher at the Global Studies Center of the Universidade Aberta, and a collaborator at the Communication and Society Studies Center of the University of Minho, with a vast published work. She is the President of the Lusophone Academy Luís de Camões, the Historical Society of the Independence of Portugal, the Fernando Pessoa Institute, and is also the director of the Portuguese Writers Association and the Observatory of the Portuguese Language. She was President of the Portuguese Translators Association, of the Center for Literatures and Lusophone and European Cultures at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon, and a member of the Board of the P.E.N. Portuguese Club. She was an Advisor for Equal Opportunities at the Ministry of Science, Research, and Higher Education.

Join us and Professor Annabela Rita for another session of the 🎉Celebrating the Word🗣️ lecture series and participate in this lecture about Camões and the importance and place of this figure in Portuguese literature and in the world! 🤩🌟
