The exhibition "Albufeira – Built Heritage through the Lens of Ana Marta Bastos" features a collection of photographs, mainly focusing on the 19th-century urban architecture of the municipality of Albufeira. The architectural ensembles, with buildings ranging from one to two stories, showcase their beautiful facades decorated with taste and refinement, reflecting the prestige of their former owners. Some facades are adorned with fine tile work and beautiful wrought iron balconies. Decorative cornices with various motifs, while others are topped with balustrades. Details of doors with their Hamsa hands constitute a significant record in this photographic display.
Ana Marta de Bastos holds a degree in Cultural Heritage from the University of Algarve. She pursued her photography training with the Racal Flash group, under the guidance of the award-winning photographer Jovelino Matos Almeida. Since childhood, she has been attracted to and curious about this magical device and obtained her first camera at the age of ten. However, it was with the advent of digital photography that the photographer dedicated herself to new experiences. She has participated in numerous temporary exhibitions in the Algarve. In 2023, she was awarded a silver medal by the American Photography Society for participating in the international João Taborda Memorial Salon competition.
